There is a chinese place here that makes the best chicken fried rice, and I could eat it every day.
Is it a healthy dish?
It would seem that it is low in fat, and is not overly salty.
I love it!

I love CFR. I ate it for about a month while traveling through Asia. I can order it in 5 languages but you can't get a decent CFR where I live.

I am envious...

Sorry I don't know how healthy it is.

depends on how much MSG they use, or how much oil they use to fry up the thing.

I think they use lots of oil when cooking it.

I like pork fried rice better.

Anything fried is not good. Think what you eat today will effect you 10 years from now.

It is good, as is most fast food. But that is exactly what it is. Fast food. Chicken fried rice is REALLY greasy, so I can't see it being healthy.

CFR has 265 calories per serving, and 360mg of sodium, I don't think that is very healthy.

Hi,

I love chicken fried rice! When ordering it at my favorite Chinese Restaurant,I ask them too cut out all the unnecessary salt.(they do not use MSG,or I would have them eliminate that as well).

Please go to: Recipes.com. and put in : Chicken and "ALL" the recipes with chicken will pop out. Look for "CHICKEN FRIED RICE", there will be several recipes for this,so look them all over.Pick out the one recipe that stands out

and get the ingredients too make this simple dish. You will be amazes how good it will taste, when you make it at home.I double the recipe, because,it is awesome for lunch! Children love it to....So make some for dinner this next

week, and let me know how it turned out.Good-Luck On making Chicken Fried rice.

every Chinese food place makes it differently, if you want to know exactly how good it is for you you should ask what they used to cook it with. most places like that cook it with peanut oil or olive oil and both are healthy er then vegetable oil.

Rice has a lot of carbs in it so over doing the carbs is not healthy. I'm sure the veggies, chicken and rice are fried in some kind of oil, so that isn't the healthiest either. I'm thinking it's probably one of the better dishes at the Chinese restaurant health wise, but I would still say not healthy. You should eat in moderation.

i know chinese people used overnight rice to make a good fried rice....this overnight rice will make the fried rice drier and fluffier.. however, it's not too good to eat a lot of overnight rice as i heard that it contains some type of chemical that's harmful to your body. this chemical is actually released from the rice ar they are left overnight or left for far too long hours.
